Success Stories
Real stories of diaspora Cameroonians who are making a difference — investing, building, connecting and transforming communities through CDIC.
Stories That
Inspire Change
Behind every investment, every partnership and every community project is a person — a Cameroonian who dared to believe that they could make a difference from wherever they are in the world. These are their stories.
At CDIC we believe that success is not just about profit — it is about people, communities and the nation we are building together. Every story shared here is proof that the diaspora is one of Cameroon’s greatest assets.
From Paris to the Farm: How One Engineer Invested in Cameroon’s Agricultural Future
After 15 years working as a civil engineer in France, Fondop Alain had always dreamed of giving back to Cameroon. Through CDIC he connected with a verified agribusiness opportunity in the West Region and made his first investment — a modern cassava processing facility that now employs 24 local workers.
“CDIC gave me the confidence to invest. I knew the opportunity was real, the process was transparent, and I had support every step of the way.”
Building Cameroon’s First Diaspora-Funded Tech Hub from London
Ngo Edith Mafor, a software developer based in London, used her CDIC membership network to connect with three other diaspora investors and co-found TechConnect Cameroon — a digital innovation hub in Douala that trains young Cameroonians in coding, design and digital entrepreneurship.
“I could not have done this alone. CDIC connected me with the right people and gave our project the credibility it needed to grow.”
A Doctor in Texas Who Built a Clinic in His Village Back Home
Dr. Tchatchou Bernard, a physician based in Houston, Texas, partnered with CDIC’s municipal partnerships program to establish a community health clinic in Bafoussam. Working with local authorities and CDIC, he mobilized funding from 12 diaspora donors and delivered a fully equipped primary healthcare facility serving over 3,000 residents.
“This clinic is not just a building — it is proof that Cameroonians abroad can change lives at home. CDIC made it possible.”
How One Ambassador in Berlin Connected 40 Cameroonian Professionals to Investment Opportunities
When Kameni Sylvie was appointed CDIC Ambassador for Germany, she immediately organized a series of networking events across Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Within her first year as ambassador she had connected over 40 Cameroonian professionals with CDIC membership, investment information sessions and development programs.
“Being a CDIC Ambassador is the most meaningful role I have ever held. Every person I connect with is a step closer to building a better Cameroon.”
A Brussels Partnership That Brought Solar Energy to Three Rural Communities
Manga Pierre, an energy consultant in Brussels, used CDIC’s partnership facilitation service to connect with a Belgian renewable energy firm interested in Cameroon. Together they launched a pilot solar electrification project in three off-grid communities in the Adamawa Region, bringing electricity to over 500 households for the first time.
“CDIC was the bridge we needed. They connected us with the right stakeholders and guided the partnership process from start to finish.”
From Toronto to Yaoundé: A Fashion Designer Who Brought African Luxury to Life
Fashion designer Nguema Aline had a vision to create a premium Cameroonian fashion brand that celebrated African heritage. Through CDIC’s entrepreneurship program she accessed mentorship, business development support and a network of investors that helped her launch Maison Nguema — a fashion house based in Yaoundé now exporting to 8 countries.
“CDIC believed in my vision before anyone else did. The mentorship and network I got through CDIC changed everything for my brand.”
